8/28/98: a reader, Mr. Nishiura.
My PB2400ユs display suddenly started to repeat flushing in midnight on August 26th.
Because the flashing seemed to happen when the machine was jiggled and the strength of the power adapter port got weakness, first, I thought that the power-supply unit on the logic bourd was almost broken. Then I realized that the flashing did not happen when the AC adapter was not used, so I thought that the cause was the AC adapter (It was difficult to check the flushing of the display because the access lump of HDD was too bright)*.
* Note from translator. Mr. Nishiura seems to be using a modified PB2400 that is equipped with an HDD access lump)
Because I had no spare adapter and it was difficult to get new one in midnight, I took apart the AC adapter and checked it by a circuit tester, and I found that the root of the wire was almost snapped.
I cut the wire at the root and solder it, then the display goet bak to normal. I think that we should take measures, such as the report from Mr. Kitamura, to meet the problem because just wire snapping might cause serious damage to the machine.
