6/24/98: from a reader, Chao.
- Unwillingly, I have been a frequent contributor to this repair report.Although I believed that nothing more could go wrong, because everything except the HDD and the body of my PB2400 had already been exchanged, it happened again.
- This time, the problem was that the AC adaptor did not supply power, and the upper PC slot did not recognize PC cards. I took my PB2400 to an NCR quick-garage, but they did not have a stock of AC adapters for the PB2400. Instead of the PB2400 adapter, they lent me a bigger AC adapter. The upper PC card slot problem was fixed by exchanging the motor-drive unit. Although I had previously reported that I got an abnormally long motor-action sound to eject a PC card, after updating the system software to 8.1, the abnormality has disappeared.
