We got one of few numbers of G3 cards in Japan, then tested it. We now show you the results of the tests that were request from readers.

However, I cannot give any test if need extra things I don't have. Please check my application environment.

7/22/98 : How long does the battery last when the G3 card installed?

I left my PowerBook2400/G3 running on a table during a meeting at work. Backside cashe was off and 10 wait was set. The battery lasted 2 hours. I used Excel a bit during this test.

　

7/21/98 : According to MacPower's August issue (MacPower is a Japanese Mac journal), They pointed out a problem with G3 card for PowerBook1400 series. How about PowerBook2400?

MacPower's report said that PowerBook1400 with a G3 card could not boot when connected to SCSII devices. ( Especially a ZIP drive was connected.) How is compatibility with the G3 card and SCSII devices?

I did not encounter any problems when I connected my CD-ROM drive to the PowerBook2400/G3. There is a utility which enabls the clock speed to go down. I think no problem if you use this utility.

　

7/8/98 : Can you use MacOS8?

When I shut off the extention file which come with the G3 card, a dialogue said that some kind of memory error happened at the start. Regardless of the dialogue, I could use the machine. So, no problem.
